主要研究方向
(1) 低价铬催化的有机合成化学 
以廉价易得的铬盐为催化剂前体,通过原位还原的策略,发展低价铬催化的有机合成化学,探索金属铬的独特催化性能与化学活性,应用于合成功能化合物和药物中间体。
(2)卡宾化学 
开发新型的环状单胺基卡宾,研究卡宾在过渡金属催化中的配体行为和反应活性。
主要工作业绩
(1) 在低价铬催化的有机合成化学研究方面: 
发展了低价态金属铬催化惰性碳–氧、碳–氮和碳-氢键的选择性功能化,稠环芳烃的区域选择性加氢还原反应,提示出低价铬在活化惰性碳-杂原子键方面具有独特的催化活性,有效地制备了芳香酮等活性中间体和稠环芳烃部分加氢产物;并实现了铁催化远程导向喹啉的烯丙基化反应,区域选择性地合成了具有生物活性的烯丙基喹啉杂环衍生物。

(2) 在单胺基卡宾配体的开发与应用方面: 
开发了一类具有强亲电和亲核特性的单胺基卡宾–环状(芳基)(胺基)卡宾;以富电性的单胺基卡宾为配体,解决了均相催化芳香酮和苯酚的芳环化学选择性加氢难题,为化学工业上制备作为生产尼龙-66和液晶原材料的环已酮类化合物提供了高效、洁净的合成策略。
作为主要贡献人现已分别在Chem. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Nat. Commun., ACS Catal., Chem. Common., Org. Lett., Organometallics, Synlett 等刊物上发表论文四十多篇,其中五篇论文他引超过一百次,被同行正面评价和推介近二十次。
